We love Sangria. Wine combined with fruit…what’s not to love?! So we were tickled when we found out that an awesome Sangria was practically being made in our backyard! This episode we had the pleasure of sitting down with Jennifer Clearwater, owner and CEO of Lovino Sangria which is made right here in our own state of Wisconsin (from California grapes no less). Listen in and learn the background behind Jennifer’s passion project and how Lovino came to be! Trust us, this isn’t your typical bottled Sangria and it isn’t your typical story. Grab a glass with your favorite wine girls (or boys) and drink the Lovino way; that is, shared with friends and preferably around an open fire (listening to DBP of course)!
As Jennifer says, “Dream big and make the impossible happen!”
If you are a parent, time spent with your kids is the most precious gift of all time. But, everyone needs a break including, and especially, moms! We delve into the stress of being a parent, how to prevent “mommy burnout” and tips to keep your self-identity outside of mom or dad. We’re sipping “Mommy’s Time Out” which was the perfect escape. So grab your own glass, take a break from the kids, and listen!
If you’re anything like us, we LOVE our sweets…almost as much as we love our wine! This episode, we interview Lindsey, a professionally trained baking and pastry arts chef, to learn more about the magical world of delicious baked goods. She shared her passion for this creative art, her journey to becoming a pastry chef, the ups and downs of the dessert industry, and even some take-home tips for us! Oh, and did we mention she just happens to be the twin of our DBP host, Jamie?! An episode so sweet and scintillating, there’s no question you’ll want a glass of wine and your favorite delicious treat to listen in with us!
In this special episode, we interview Grant, Tasting Gallery Lead at family-owned Jessup Cellars in Napa Valley. He also takes us on a journey through his own path from growing up in Napa to where he is now. As we get a more intimate look into the friendly Jessup Cellars and the lengths they will go to please their customers (flying to your home for your own personal wine tasting!), we sip on Table for Four, one of Jessup’s flagship wines. A “vision of what’s to come,” a diviner has magical insight into the future. This episode, we have our own diviner among us, as we welcome our guest Christina who’s adept in numerology, the belief in the divine or mystical relationship between a number and one or more coinciding events. Christina helps us delve into the mystical principles of numerology, as we find out our key life numbers and the meaning behind them! You’ll never believe which number your two DBP hosts have in common…it’s pretty remarkable! Listen in as we discover the truth behind the numbers!
Buying or selling a house can be so stressful AND confusing! It also really makes you feel like you’re #adulting hard. Our friend Ben joins us this episode to share his realtor-expertise about navigating the process, the do’s and don’ts (like making yourself “at home” while out on home visits!), and how to figure out what’s important to you. You may be looking for a Picket Fence, like the name of our wine, or maybe a big bathtub…no matter what it is, we’re positive this episode will get you laughing and more confident about how to find a perfect home.
‘Tis the season for bolder red wines and deer hunting! In this episode we’re joined by avid huntsman, Adam, as we explore the ethos of the modern, ethical hunter. Delving into the drive behind the hunt, we discuss the hunter’s responsiblity to the environment, the animal, and the earth, and how the stigma associated with the sport is not reflective of a true huntsman. This isn’t some float off into the woods and have a bonfire type of deal; it requires skill and a specific mindset. Fittingly paired with St. Hubert’s “The Stag” Cabernet Sauvignon, this episode is one that’ll prove insightful for those unfamiliar with the hunting world.
The world could use some more positivity, and we know just the thing! In this episode, we’re joined by a special DBP guest and wine popper, Ellen, to talk about how we can reduce our footprints, but most importantly, what we can do to increase our handprint (and explain what that really is). Fittingly paired with the Winemaker’s Handprint Merlot from Meeker Vineyards, join us to learn some fun facts about wine tannins, what it means to be part of the Meeker Tribe, and how you can lend a helping hand to create a positive impact on the environment and world around you!
