Ep132: It’s a Celebration Bitches: 4 Years

4 years?! Time sure does fly when you are having fun…especially while drinking wine! This episode we break out the wines we picked up on our inaugural DBP visit to Sonoma at a charming winery in Carneros. We both chose the same wine, but different vintages in anticipation of popping them for a special occasion. Listen in as we celebrate our DBPversary, and reflect while enjoying two beauties from the same vineyard! Sip along, because it’s a celebration, bitches!

Ep124: Spring [Wine] Awakenings

Spring into the new season with us as we transition from the big red wines of winter into the fresh, fruity, and crisp wines that call for warmer temps. This episode features 4 wines – 2 whites and 2 reds – we think welcome the changing weather. These wines remind us of how we dress this time of year: a light layer, nothing too heavy, while we say bye-bye to darker colors and hello to brighter ones! Listen in as we awaken our senses for spring with these affordable beauties!

Ep120: DBP Book Club Part 4

We thought we’d kick this year off with a book club to keep us busy during the winter months. And, boy do we have a spectrum of subjects we covered! A little bit of baby how-to, combined with some wine education, and sprinkled with an autobiography of a fave actor – we think you’ll find one of your future reads in this episode! We paired this episode with a commemorative wine in honor of one of the greatest literary pieces of all time, Moby Dick. Grab a glass to sip along and find your next book!

Ep106: Sounds of Silence

In a world of noise and chaos, most of us are constantly searching for just a few moments of peace and quiet, and as the pandemonium around us gets louder, it becomes harder and harder to find that inner silence. Well, we may have found the perfect solution to get away from it all – float therapy! And we aren’t talking the root beer kind! This episode we interview Andy, the owner and founder of Float Milwaukee, a local float spa. Floating is a relaxation therapy in which one floats in a pod full of salt water, eliminating external stimuli and giving the body a reset. And there are several health benefits far more than just noise relief! Listen in and find out from Andy how floating may just be your newest way to unwind, rest, and rejuvenate! A glass of relaxing red pairs excellently with this episode!

Ep77: Mile High Germ Club

Attention DBP jetsetters! Of the top 10 things that you should never do on an airplane, most of you might immediately assume joining the infamous Mile High Club would be on that list, but not necessarily! Your DBP girls are here to warn you of the hidden spots on planes where nasty bacteria hide and what you should absolutely never do when flying. You’ll be surprised to hear where germs have been found…we certainly were (let’s just say no more ice in our aviation cocktails)! If you are a germaphobe (like us!) or if you just don’t want to get sick when traveling, you definitely need to hear this episode!

Ep65: This Wine is Uncanny

Wine in a can?! While it may sound outrageous, the new trend is to can our favorite beverage for convenience, portability, and because it’s the hip new thing. As more and more producers jump on the canned wine train, we have been asking ourselves if we should join this modern movement. So to get to the bottom of the can, so to speak, we decided to compare every aspect of canned vs bottled wine, from taste to cost. We grabbed a bottle and a can of pinot noir from one of the biggest entrepreneurs in the canned wine industry – Union Wine Company – for our taste test challenge. Is the can too good to be true? Or is it the perfect way for wine to be a part of all our adventures? Grab a bottle or can (or both!) and listen in to find out! #pinkiesdown
