In this episode, each of us takes you on a journey down the stories behind three of our favorite books (no spoiler alerts here!) – and it is quite the collection. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we thought what better time to focus our conversation – and beverage – on the twins we’ve got on the front of our bodies. One in eight woman will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, a sobering statistic for sure. The good news is there are higher survival rates and technology that improves detection. Still, breast cancer is a scary thing, and we want to be sure our DBPeeps are informed and have a better understanding of how to support those affected. While drinking the Montes Twins red blend, we run through recent statistics surrounding breast cancer, preventive measures, symptoms, and resources that exist. Your DBP hosts don’t need convincing of the appeal of this show, that hit TVs nationwide in 1994 – that means it’s 25 years old!! Even today, so much of what was covered in episodes still applies today, and we continue to find various aspects of our daily lives relating to a scene.
