2020 was definitely one for the books, with pretty much everyone ready to slam the door on the year and start fresh with a new one. Since we didn’t think everyone wanted to relive the dark incidents that will brand 2020 for years to come, we decided to dedicate this episode to highlighting some of the more uplifting events of the year and share some of our personal triumphs and accomplishments. Pour yourself something fabulous to toast as we ring in the New Year and say BUH-BYE to 2020!
Finally! An episode dedicated to our absolute favorite – the legend, the Princess of Pop, the one and only: Whitney Houston. From the very beginning, Whitney possessed a certain magic that would come through in every one of her performances. This episode we discuss her life, our dearest memories with her songs, and why she truly is the ‘greatest love of all’ in the music world. Grab a glass of something bold and listen in as we reflect on the powerful icon that is Whitney.
That is the question! It truly is for some of us who are in need of a furry friend, yet unsure if it is the right fit. This episode we delve in to the pros and cons of having a pet, as well as the different types of pets to consider (who knew a mouse could be a pet?)! Once you decide on a pet, we have tips on where to find your next best friend. This is a time when many of us are contemplating pet ownership (including one of us!), and we thought we’d bring the pet debate front and center. Why not listen in with a glass of one of your favorites and decide for yourself!
It’s spring and we are all stuck at home…so it’s the perfect time to get crackin’ on some Spring Cleaning! There’s no escaping the recent news: Prince Harry and his bride, Meghan Markle, are stepping down as senior members of the British Royal Family with the hope of leading a more private life. But what does that actually mean for the supreme couple? It certainly seems to be more than just giving up a title. If you’re royally obsessed like us, then you’ll want to know all the details and we’ve made sure to do the digging for you! We’ve got the latest on the Royal Exit and recommend you sip on something fit for a Queen while you listen in!
This year, like every other, feels like we’ve been on a never-ending roller coaster. With ups and downs and some loops thrown in, we can feel like we’re on top of the world and then, almost in a heartbeat, feel like we’re plummeting to our doom. And 2019 didn’t disappoint in this arena! In this episode, we recap some of last year’s highlights in rollercoaster fashion – some you may expect and others may come as a surprise – so hang on tight as we pop our Roller Coaster red blend!
Trick or Treat, smell our feet, give us something good to eat! We’re known for our love of wine, but we also have quite the sweet tooth – teeth? – especially around Halloween. From pumpkin shaped Reese’s to candy corn (does anyone really like it?), all of us have our fave treats this time of year. We share some of ours, the story behind the beloved candy tradition, and the darker side of trick-or-treating…dare we say…poison?! Grab some candy, pick your poison (we sure did!) and listen in!
Are you a curfew breaker? If you’re one of our listeners, we bet most of you probably have at some point! But, that doesn’t mean they don’t have a purpose for the younger generations. This episode, we discuss the history behind curfews, if they are effective (do they actually prevent youth crime or protect the younger crowds?), and do they potentially violate juvenile civil liberties (wait, what??). While we ponder the concept of curfews, we sip on the No Curfew red blend.
As the winemakers say, “Work will be work and adulting is hard, but we’ll be there when you need that reprieve. So kick off your shoes, settle onto the sofa, and sip away. Now Swirl, Sip & Repeat!” Cheers!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re probably aware of a recreational vice that’s quickly becoming one of the nation’s favorites. And no, it’s not wine (that’s definitely our favorite!), but marijuana (aka “the chronic” among many aliases). The marijuana craze has been swiftly sweeping the country, with the number of states legalizing the drug for both medicinal and recreational purposes increasing annually. In this episode we discuss the pros and cons of marijuana legalization, touching on everything from economics, safety, and even how it may impact the wine industry! You may leave this episode with a stronger sense of where you stand on the topic, or it may drive you deeper into the Chronic Conundrum! So grab a bottle of Purple Paradise by Chronic Cellars (yes, that is pure wine), tune in and decide for yourself!
Time to make a deal! With yourself, of course! It’s a New Year, which means new beginnings and resolutions. This episode we discuss the tradition of New Year’s resolutions, how to set meaningful goals for yourself, and tactics to making them stick! What better way to start a New Year than by drinking the California red, DealMaker, mostly composed of Old Vine Zinfandel, a DBP favorite! Even the winemaker, Jeff Cohn, has some words of wisdom for 2019…”Relax: It’s 2019!”
