We love Sangria. Wine combined with fruit…what’s not to love?! So we were tickled when we found out that an awesome Sangria was practically being made in our backyard! This episode we had the pleasure of sitting down with Jennifer Clearwater, owner and CEO of Lovino Sangria which is made right here in our own state of Wisconsin (from California grapes no less). Listen in and learn the background behind Jennifer’s passion project and how Lovino came to be! Trust us, this isn’t your typical bottled Sangria and it isn’t your typical story. Scootin’ around town has now taken a literal translation since actual scooters are suddenly everywhere! As these electric “vehicles” invade downtown areas of cities around the country, we couldn’t help but ask – What’s all the hoopla about? Well, for one (or two or three), they are cheap, convenient, and fun!! But this seemingly innocent and attractive new transit option can come with dangerous risk of serious injury or death if not used properly. Sipping on Hoopla California Cabernet, we discuss the current controversy around the scooter invasion and ponder if they are here to stay or a fad that will fizzle.

Are you a curfew breaker? If you’re one of our listeners, we bet most of you probably have at some point! But, that doesn’t mean they don’t have a purpose for the younger generations. This episode, we discuss the history behind curfews, if they are effective (do they actually prevent youth crime or protect the younger crowds?), and do they potentially violate juvenile civil liberties (wait, what??). While we ponder the concept of curfews, we sip on the No Curfew red blend.

As the winemakers say, “Work will be work and adulting is hard, but we’ll be there when you need that reprieve. So kick off your shoes, settle onto the sofa, and sip away. Now Swirl, Sip & Repeat!” Cheers!

After visiting four wineries – from small and rustic to a chateau with beautiful gardens – we share little tidbits from along the journey with history and fun facts, try to whittle down our list of favorites from the day, and recommend some stops for wine country travelers. Highlighted by meeting a couple of the winemakers themselves and capping off our day with chocolate and a little “S&M,” the Sonoma leg of our tour was a blast! According to the Californians, “You can drink whatever you want, as long as you drink wine.” Cheers!
